Blah, blah, blah........

Nothing exciting. I'm waiting for longer and warmer days. The dogs and I went to the pet store for some excitement. It was time for more treats. We had an exciting day yesterday with Lulu. She ended up at the emergency vet because she was vomiting (not abnormal for her) and had diarrhea with lots of blood. She has a history of GI problems but I didn't remember the blood in the stool. So, we spent 5 hours at the vet. There was a shift change, a dog-fight case and a siezuring dog that took precedence over us. I spent $300+ but if I'd done everything they wanted to do, it would have cost $850 - $1200! I'm so glad I held off on the x-ray because it would have been about $130 and when I took her to her regular vet today, the x-ray was only $45. We spent $97 today, which is way better than I'd expected. The vet we saw today has worked with Lulu from her early days and knows all about her GI problems. He didn't do anything that wasn't necessary and he didn't charge me as much as he could have so I appreciate that. Lulu is fine and he reminded me that she had a similar incident in March 2006. We'll try the low-residue diet again and see how that goes. Oh, the vet thought this event might have been due to a new treat I have her 2 days ago. The treat was a wierd rawhide that could be microwaved to soften it up. It had a wierd consistency and kind of reminded me of a gummy worm when heated. I should have know that treat would be trouble.

Other than that, nothing exciting. Will likely go to Jill's house tomorrow night for cake and ice cream for mom's birthday. It will be nice to meet her new puppy, Buddy.

Duh! I answered this post on my blog...
I didn't think they were going to call the pup Buddy.

Hope Lulu is ok...it can be hard on you, I know, when a pet is sick. I guess this means she's "delicate"? lol
I actually got a card to Mom BEFORE her birthday! I don't know what's wrong with me :)
